With the user of appropriate ancillary equipment it is thus possible to demonstrate the physical and chemical characteristics of the crystals which are dependent on the structure. In additon, knowledge in the field of crystallography is one of the prime requirements for understanding mineralogy.The collection contains examples of all seven classes of crystals. The Miller indices for the major facets are noted on the labels.
